GOLD

Class: Gold.oad
  • Number of Gold This value represents the increase in the number of EUs for the Object when they collide with this object. Note that the Gold is destroyed after a collision with a valid Object.
  • Activated By
    • All Any object in the Gameworld is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU.
    • Actor Only the single object defined in the Activated By Actor box (see below) is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU.
    • Class Any object of the class defined in the Activated By Class box (see below) is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU.
    • Object Any contained in the Activated By Object List box (see below) is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU.
  • Activated By
    • Activated By Actor The object name in this box is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU when the Actor button is selected (see above).
    • Activated By Class Any object of the class name in this box is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU when the Class button is selected (see above).
    • Activated By Object List Any object in the corresponding Xdata document is considered a valid object for collision/collection with this EU when the Object List button is selected (see above).
Example In order to power his weapons, shields, and other devices, Playman must find Power Bits. These are the same as what is referred to here as Gold. The simplest way to do this would be to simply set it up with Playman as the sole object that can grab gold. Doing that would be as simple as setting it up with Activated By | Actor button, then putting Playman into the Activated By| Activated By Actor box, but the designer isn’t called devious for nothing. He has created something called a Bit-muncher, whose job it is to eat the Power Bits before Playman can get to them. He'll need to have more than one valid object for activating Gold, and to do that he'll need to set the Activated By | Object button. Once that’s set up he set up the objects he needs by entering them into the Xdata document by pressing the Acivated By | Activated By Object List | Xdata...
